If you are not listening closely to what is being said on both sides of the political spectrum, you are crazy. If you believe that our problems today are democrat or republican, you are grossly mistaken. I've always been a student of history. I have spoken out against Washington and the policies on education and welfare my whole life. Whether you believe what I say matters not to me at this point. I can only express what I feel and hold to be true. There is no difference in the outcome of either political party. When the players all belong to the same fraternal and political organizations and their goal is "One World Government", why would you support them at the risk of your freedom? Only by reading for yourself and learning what has happened in our recent history will you know and understand what trouble we are in. Why as an American would you be willing to live in a society with no freedom? Your life is already regulated in every facet. Name one thing that you own or can purchase that is not regulated by taxes, registation or stirct guidelines! You think you are free until you see the number of cameras that are watching you. As long as you follow the lamb in front of you and never stray off the path, you think you will be alright. Heaven forbid you question authority and ask whatever happened to states rights? Why am I paying 8 1/4 percent sales tax? Why do I have to pay tax on something and then declare it as income when I sell it and pay more tax on it? Why are our legislators in Washington more than they are at home? Are you just so sick of hearing it all from the screaming, yelling talking heads on televison? I've nearly come to tears hearing Glenn Beck reveal the truth about our country on his television show. Call me crazy, but he is saying things that you can verify yourself. That's what it comes down to. You have to get off your ass for a few minutes a day and research for yourself. Were the nazi and communist parties thriving in our country in the 1930s? YES! Is it true that we turned away shiploads of refugees from our harbors who fled Europe after Hitler invaded Poland? YES! Have there been communists and socialists working in the Whitehouse? YES! Are there communists and socialists working in the current administration? YES! Do I want a tea party! NO, NO, NO! I want a revolution! I want all of the stupid people who need warning labels on everything they buy, experiment with or come into contact with to die! If you need a warning label on a gun.......you need to die when you put it to your head and pull the trigger. Why should you be able to sue a gun manufacturer if you are stupid enough to shoot yourself in the leg while you are quickdrawing your cowboy pistol? If you think items should be kept out of the hands of children then do it!!!!! Why should a person that breeaks into your house and steals or harms you in any way be allowed to live, let alone sue you if he falls and hurts himself? Why should politicians be exempt from the laws they sponsor? The list is long and growing longer. Turn on Glenn Beck on March 5, 2010, 5:00 PM Eastern and see what our educators are doing to our children. I guarantee it will open your eyes. You may not believe in God or the Bible, but there is a Scripture verse that describes the everyday american who depends on the government for a handout or protection from life itself. Proverbs 6:9-11. Be vigilant and begin to provide for yourself. Educate yourself. Feed yourself from the good things in life that are free! Please don't comment on this unless you take it seriously enough to read the Scripture or watch Mr. Beck this Friday.

A New Year!

Lori and I came back from our visit to Hawaii on December 30, 2009. It has become a most interesting year already. Politics has certainly been on everyone's mind and it looks like conservatism will once again prosper in 2010 and beyond if we are to retrieve the rights of our citizenship.
Our Christmas visit was great. We spent time with David, Amanda, Joe and Kate as well as Craig, Judy and Sarah. We looked at property in Hawaiian Paradise Park in Keeau. We found a beautiful 1 acre lot just 4 tenths of a mile from the ocean. We are still not sure of the departure time for our upcoming move, but hope it will be soon. We have our house on the market and someone is coming tomorrow to look at it. We haven't had a lot of responses due to the economy. The price has been lowered and we are hopeful it will sell. The dogs will be through with their quarantine on April 30th.
Pictures from the trip can be seen on my flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/1porchlife/
We are also listing our male English bulldog Tank as "at stud". He is a beautiful dog and since he is new we are offering his services for $500.00 or a puppy from the first litter if we are still in the area to receive it.
I wish I had more to write. I guess brevity is best because my mind is on other things. I can only say we are enamored with Hawaii and our hearts are there. We made three trip there in 2009 and hope to make it home in 2010.

Thankful
Happy post Thanksgiving! Lori and I had a most wonderful and fulfilling Thanksgiving Day. We both cooked and prepared for family and friends to create a tasty meal. Ham for me and turkey for Lori. We had fun listening to worship music. I had some "old" Morris Chapman albums, and Lori played Mercy Me and other more contemporary. I took some pictures of the food and people started arriving at 2:30 pm. My daughter Stacey was the first with her boyfriend Eric's two daughters. Eric arrived shortly after and our close friend Lorraine came next. We missed Willie this year. He went to the coast to spend the holiday with his family. My brother worked at home with someone he had contracted to sheetrock a room. In the afternoon Lori and I passed the phone back and forth talking to my son David and his wife Amanda. Amanda was hosting Thanksgiving for her family in their newly rented home. We miss them very much! It will be great to see them when we go to visit at Christmas time. Our home is still on the market and no one is looking at it. It doesn't bother me and we still have several months until we hit our window for moving to Hawaii. I recently started a "Classmates.Com" account along with "Facebook" and "MySpace". There are a lot of people I've lost track of over the years. It has been nice to get connected again. I hope this will be the year I am able to reconnect with my youngest daughter and granddaughter. I've seen them around Redding. It's hard to honor her wishes and not contact them. My granddaughter is so beautiful and five years old.
Lori just got up and it's time to have breakfast. It is a relief to put these thoughts down and not get into politics as we do on our Flickr page. I pray for a good finish to the year for all. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

These are some pictures from our trip to Seattle. Lori and I flew there for her mother's 92nd birthday. Most of our time is spent on Flickr. It seems like I hardly have time for the blogs these days. Please enjoy our posts. We are looking forward to our trip back to Hawaii for Christmas 09. My Flickr page is:

I'm Back

It seems as though I rarely get around to updating this blog. It is now November 14, 2009 and Lori and I just returned from Seattle. We visited her mother for her 92nd birthday. I met my brother-in-law Chris for the first time. Just to catch up....We've finished our home renovation and have listed it for sale. We hope to move to Hawaii as soon as April 2010. We will be visiting Hawaii again in December to spend Christmas with my son, David and his wife Amanda. Their children Josiah and Kate are growing and we miss them. All of their photos are on my Flickr Photostream. My close friend Jeff lives on Oahu and we'll spend time there also. Life in Hawaii is laid back. There are many opportunities for those who are ambitious to work, but laid back enough to live there. I hope you can enjoy the photos that I've posted on Flickr. With all of the crazy political events happening I've gotten carried away. One day the black suburbans will pull up in front of the house to take me to one of the re-education centers (-: I'm not sure how to link this blog to my Flickr page, but I'll try. I usually post daily and it follows our lives pretty close. The year is coming to an end and we look forward to a prosperous 2010.

Been away too long!
The last time I wrote on this blog was December of 2008. In January of 2009 Lori and I celebrated our first anniversary as a married couple. We spent a week in Hawaii on the Island of Maui. You can view all of the photos on my Flickr site. A lot has happened in the mean time. My son and daughter-in-law with grandkids in tow moved to Hawaii, near Hilo. We are leaving at the end of this month to visit them. We fell in love with Hawaii and hope to retire there. Lori and I both spend a lot of time on Flickr. We take a lot of pictures of the creatures that live on our half acre and the areas around us in the county. Today we are putting lattice work around one side of the front porch. It will help to block the sun and the view of the apartments. We also mowed and trimmed the yard. Tomorrow is Mother's Day. I hope all of you are blessed. We also bought an English Bull Dog. Her name is Nula and she is about 7 months old. She is growing like a weed and is our couch companion in the evenings along with Buddy and Tom the cat. We miss our kids and grandkids but will be reunited soon. In the mean time we will take more pictures and share them with our friends around the world on Flickr. God bless you all! David
