Thankful

Happy post Thanksgiving! Lori and I had a most wonderful and fulfilling Thanksgiving Day. We both cooked and prepared for family and friends to create a tasty meal. Ham for me and turkey for Lori. We had fun listening to worship music. I had some "old" Morris Chapman albums, and Lori played Mercy Me and other more contemporary. I took some pictures of the food and people started arriving at 2:30 pm. My daughter Stacey was the first with her boyfriend Eric's two daughters. Eric arrived shortly after and our close friend Lorraine came next. We missed Willie this year. He went to the coast to spend the holiday with his family. My brother worked at home with someone he had contracted to sheetrock a room. In the afternoon Lori and I passed the phone back and forth talking to my son David and his wife Amanda. Amanda was hosting Thanksgiving for her family in their newly rented home. We miss them very much! It will be great to see them when we go to visit at Christmas time. Our home is still on the market and no one is looking at it. It doesn't bother me and we still have several months until we hit our window for moving to Hawaii. I recently started a "Classmates.Com" account along with "Facebook" and "MySpace". There are a lot of people I've lost track of over the years. It has been nice to get connected again. I hope this will be the year I am able to reconnect with my youngest daughter and granddaughter. I've seen them around Redding. It's hard to honor her wishes and not contact them. My granddaughter is so beautiful and five years old.

Lori just got up and it's time to have breakfast. It is a relief to put these thoughts down and not get into politics as we do on our Flickr page. I pray for a good finish to the year for all. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

These are some pictures from our trip to Seattle. Lori and I flew there for her mother's 92nd birthday. Most of our time is spent on Flickr. It seems like I hardly have time for the blogs these days. Please enjoy our posts. We are looking forward to our trip back to Hawaii for Christmas 09. My Flickr page is:

I'm Back

It seems as though I rarely get around to updating this blog. It is now November 14, 2009 and Lori and I just returned from Seattle. We visited her mother for her 92nd birthday. I met my brother-in-law Chris for the first time. Just to catch up....We've finished our home renovation and have listed it for sale. We hope to move to Hawaii as soon as April 2010. We will be visiting Hawaii again in December to spend Christmas with my son, David and his wife Amanda. Their children Josiah and Kate are growing and we miss them. All of their photos are on my Flickr Photostream. My close friend Jeff lives on Oahu and we'll spend time there also. Life in Hawaii is laid back. There are many opportunities for those who are ambitious to work, but laid back enough to live there. I hope you can enjoy the photos that I've posted on Flickr. With all of the crazy political events happening I've gotten carried away. One day the black suburbans will pull up in front of the house to take me to one of the re-education centers (-: I'm not sure how to link this blog to my Flickr page, but I'll try. I usually post daily and it follows our lives pretty close. The year is coming to an end and we look forward to a prosperous 2010.

Been away too long!

The last time I wrote on this blog was December of 2008. In January of 2009 Lori and I celebrated our first anniversary as a married couple. We spent a week in Hawaii on the Island of Maui. You can view all of the photos on my Flickr site. A lot has happened in the mean time. My son and daughter-in-law with grandkids in tow moved to Hawaii, near Hilo. We are leaving at the end of this month to visit them. We fell in love with Hawaii and hope to retire there. Lori and I both spend a lot of time on Flickr. We take a lot of pictures of the creatures that live on our half acre and the areas around us in the county. Today we are putting lattice work around one side of the front porch. It will help to block the sun and the view of the apartments. We also mowed and trimmed the yard. Tomorrow is Mother's Day. I hope all of you are blessed. We also bought an English Bull Dog. Her name is Nula and she is about 7 months old. She is growing like a weed and is our couch companion in the evenings along with Buddy and Tom the cat. We miss our kids and grandkids but will be reunited soon. In the mean time we will take more pictures and share them with our friends around the world on Flickr. God bless you all! David
